Makeup Monday: Updated Everyday Makeup

Not much has changed since I last did an everyday makeup post but I have swapped a few things around from my collection to my makeup bag. The items that are the same are normally my favourite products that I couldn't live with out and are always in my makeup bag.

The foundation that is in my makeup bag at the moment is the MaX Factor Face Finity All Day Flawless, I really like this foundation as it has really good coverage. The concealers are the same as always the Collection Lasting Perfection in Fair and the Garnier Tinted Eye Roll On. I have gone back to using the Seventeen Miracle Matte Pressed Powder and I forgot how amazing it is, it really does keep me matte all day and the combination of this powder and the Face Finity foundation is amazing. As an oily skin girl I always struggle to find a foundation and powder that last all day and keep me from looking shiny but these too are amazing and really affordable too. I have gone back to using the Sleek Face Form palette. I really do love the combination of the blush, highlight and contour powder together as they are just beautiful. It's the same ol' same ol' for my eyebrows the Rimmel eyebrow pencil in hazel. I use nothing else as this is just perfect for me, it has everything I want in a eyebrow pencil and it's so cheap too. For my eyes I use the eyeshadow base as always, 001 by Dainty Doll. I have gone back to using the Naked Basics palette, as I just love it. I've been using Venus as a highlight under my brow bone and in the corner of my eye and then I have been using Naked 2 on my lid. Then in my crease I have been using the MaX Factor Earth Spirits single eyeshadow on 105 Terra Firma. Lastly on my eyes I have been using my regular and favourite mascara and eyeliner which are the L'Oreal Volume million lashes and the Soap and Glory smoulder and kohl. That's pretty much it, apart from my lipsticks which change everyday as it just depends what kind of day it is.

Makeup Monday: My Revlon Lip Butter Collection!

Hey guys, this weeks Makeup Monday post is going to be my Revlon Lip Butter Collection and a mini review. I brought my first ever Revlon Lip Butter last year and only recently has my collection grown and I'm determined to finish it.

The Revlon Lip Butter's are my all time favourite lipsticks and I reach for them pretty much everyday. I find that they have a lot more colour pay off then you may expect. I find that they are really moisturizing and buttery on my lips. Although they are not tinted balms some of them are sheer and just give a slight sheen of colour or gloss especially the lighter shades. They aren't the most long lasting lipsticks and you will need to reapply every couple of hours. I find that with the brighter shades they can smudge easily. Apart from that they are still my favourite and are defiantly worth a try if you haven't already.

Revlon Lip Butters can be purchased from Boots (link) for £7.99

Here are the ones I currently own..

Reds
So far I only own 1 red which is Wild Watermelon. I would describe this colour as more of a summery red and isn't as opague and bold as some reds, however on the lips it is still very bright.

(Here it is swatched on my hand)

Pinks
The pinks that I own are:
(from left to right)
Sorbet
Sweet Tart
Cotton Candy
Strawberry Shortcake

(swatches on my hand)

Nudes and Berry Shades
(from left to right)
Berry Smoothie
Macaroon
Peach Parfait
Creme Brulee

(And here they are swatched)

Oranges
I own two orange shades that look similar in the picture, but on the lips they look completely different.
And they are
(from left to right)
Tutti Frutti
Juicy Papaya

(Swatches L- Tutti Fruitt R- Juicy Papaya)

As you can see when swatched Tutti Fruitti is alot more of a true, bold orange whereas Juicy Papaya is more of a nude orange as is more sheer.

That's it!

Makeup Monday: Favourite Nude Lipsticks

Hey guys, recently I have been opting for a nude lip which is quite unusal for me as I'm more into bright pinks and oranges especially in the summer. Today I have selected my 5 favourites, some of you may think that that they are all the same but actually they are all very different.

My favourite's are: (from left to right)

Revlon Lip Butter in Creme Brulee
Rimmel Kate Lipstick 07
MUA Lipstick Shade 11
Avon Colourtrend Bubblegum Pout
MaX Factor Lilac Wine

 Revlon Lip Butter Creme Brulee
This is probably my favourite and most used everyday nude. It is probably the most nude lipstick I own but what I love is that it doesn't make me look washed out or totally block out my natural lip colour, it just gives a milky wash of gloss.

Rimmel Kate Lipstick 07
On my lips this looks more of an orangey nude and looks good with darker eye makeup on me. It's more of a wintery colour than a summer colour but still really good for everyday.

MUA Lipstick Shade 11
This one is the classic- your lips but better lipstick. It's one of those lipsticks that lives in your handbag and goes with anything. I always wear this when I can't decide on what colour to go for as I'm never disappointed with this one. It seems to look different everytime I wear it and with different makeup looks.

Avon Colourtrend Bubblegum Pout
This is another- your lips but better lipstick but is very different to the MUA. It's alot lighter and you don't get as much colour pay off. This lipstick is full of glitter and has a gorgeous gold shimmer.

MaX Factor Lilac Wine
This is more of a berry colour but still is a nude. It has gold shimmer running through and looks amazing in the summer and winter as its not to dark on the lips.

 Whats your favourite nude lipstick?

Makeup Monday: How I Wash My Makeup Brushes

Today I thought I would show you guys how I wash my makeup brushes. I tend to wash my brushes on the same day every week normally on a Sunday. I don't spot clean them everyday as I use the brushes for the same thing everyday and plus I don't think they need it anyway. The brushes that I use everyday are a mixture of the Real Techniques and Urban Decay.

Here is what I use to wash my makeup brushes!

Step 1: Soak them in olive oil to get all of the colour out- I do this because my brushes have white tips as it gets out all the colour. I pour a little olive oil into a bowl and I swish my makeup brush around in it. Then I hold the brush facing downwards under a stream of warm water whilst squeezing all the oil out and you will see all the colour coming out.

Step 2: I then use some gentle shampoo and I just use a baby shampoo. I squeeze a little into the palm of my hand and swoosh the brush around in it so that it lathers up. I then rinse the brush under a stream of warm water facing the brush downwards, whilst I squeeze out all the product. I make sure that I get out all of the olive oil as otherwise my makeup brushes will be greasy.

Step 3: When I have washed all my brushes, I lay them flat on a folded towel so that they can dry over night. I then look forward to using clean brushes the next morning. And that's it!

Makeup Monday: Mini Makeup Haul

The other day I did a little bit of shopping and obviously I was going to buy makeup. Boots were doing 3 for 2 mix and match across all the makeup so I took advantage of that, however everything I brought from Boots was from Revlon. I also did a little bit of shopping in TK Maxx. Here's what I brought...

I brought 2 more Revlon Lip Butters as I'm trying to collect all of them. I brought 2 everyday natural colours and they were Cotton Candy and Peach Parfait.

Cotton Candy is just a really light pink that I will probably wear everyday as its very natural looking and just gives a sheer wash of pink on the lips.

Peach Parfait is a orange sort of nude which has a gold shimmer and gold glitter running through, its stunning and looks amazing on the lips.

I also brought one of the Revlon Matte Balms as I haven't yet tried them and I really want to. The one that I chose was Unapologetic, its a really bright pink coral that its perfect for the Summer.

I also brought a new mascara not from Boots but from TK Maxx. It's a Maybelline one which I haven't seen in Boots or Superdrug before. I think its called Cil à Cil  Volume Express, I don't know much about it but I brought it to try as I quite like Maybelline mascaras.

Also from TK Maxx I brought these clear plastic desk storage holders, which I'm going to use for makeup. I brought 2 to store my lipsticks in as I'm trying to collect clear plastic makeup storage for all my makeup as I think it looks really nice.

That's it, that's all the makeup I brought. Thanks for reading!

Makeup Monday: Real Techniques Powder Brush Review

The Powder brush is my most recent addition to my Real Techniques collection and so far, so good. I really love Real Technique brushes and when I needed a new powder brush, I jumped at the chance to buy this one. I've had it for a while now and I've washed it a number of times and it is still in perfect condition and it's kept it's shape.

It's so soft, the brush is really light and easy to use. It evenly apply my powder and works well with my favourite powder, the Revlon Nearly Naked. I also use this brush to bronze my face sometimes as it gives a really natural look as you can't go to heavy handed with the brush. I absolutely love this brush as it's amazing like all the Real Technique brushes I've tried.
