What I Ate Wednesday (27.4.14)

Breakfast
Again I had porridge, its just so quick and easy and its really filling. I had the original one today and I added chopped banana on top.

Lunch
I had lunch out as I was in town with my best friend. We went to the Wilkinson's cafe as the food is great and really good value. I had a jacket potato with cheese and beans. It came with lettuce, tomatoes and cucumber and I'm not sure what the dressing was but it was delicious.

Snack
We went to the cinema in the afternoon and my friend and I shared a small popcorn, we had half sweet and half salt as we couldn't decide on which one to get.

Dinner
Just had a small dinner as I wasn't that hungry. I had popcorn chicken with new potatoes, carrot sticks, cucumber and  a cous cous salad.

 Dessert
I had the the vanilla cupcake that was with a butter cream frosting and a chocolate star, my mum had the chocolate one. I wanted both but she ate the chocolate one before I got to it in time. They are from Sainsbury's  and they are absolutely delicious.

Beauty Tuesday: April Favourites

Hey guys, its that time of the month again when I'm going to share with you my beauty favourites for the month. There's not much I've been really loving this month as I only have 3 things to talk to you all about.

One thing that I have actually been using for a while now but I have never mentioned is a makeup brush and it is the Urban Decay makeup brush that came in the Naked 3 palette. I use it everyday for my eye shadow. I really like this brush because I like the shape as I find it really easy to apply my eye shadow and because of the shape I sort of pat my eye shadow on and this stops any fall out.

I have also been loving the Bourjois Happy Light Foundation. I have done a first impressions post on it a while ago - link. I've been reaching for it recently because as the weather is getting nicer and its nearly Summer I have been wanting a lighter foundation. This one is really nice, as its really hydrating and has a nice finish. It also lasts along time and has pretty good coverage for a light foundation.

Another makeup product and the last product I've been loving this month is the Bourjois chocolate bronzer. I've been reaching for it a lot lately as its a really nice light natural bronzer that just slightly bronzes up my face. I have had it for a while but only recently I have been using it a lot and recently I have been using it pretty much everyday for a nice sun kissed glow.

That's all of my favourites for this month, thanks for reading.

Makeup Monday: How I Wash My Makeup Brushes

Today I thought I would show you guys how I wash my makeup brushes. I tend to wash my brushes on the same day every week normally on a Sunday. I don't spot clean them everyday as I use the brushes for the same thing everyday and plus I don't think they need it anyway. The brushes that I use everyday are a mixture of the Real Techniques and Urban Decay.

Here is what I use to wash my makeup brushes!

Step 1: Soak them in olive oil to get all of the colour out- I do this because my brushes have white tips as it gets out all the colour. I pour a little olive oil into a bowl and I swish my makeup brush around in it. Then I hold the brush facing downwards under a stream of warm water whilst squeezing all the oil out and you will see all the colour coming out.

Step 2: I then use some gentle shampoo and I just use a baby shampoo. I squeeze a little into the palm of my hand and swoosh the brush around in it so that it lathers up. I then rinse the brush under a stream of warm water facing the brush downwards, whilst I squeeze out all the product. I make sure that I get out all of the olive oil as otherwise my makeup brushes will be greasy.

Step 3: When I have washed all my brushes, I lay them flat on a folded towel so that they can dry over night. I then look forward to using clean brushes the next morning. And that's it!

What I Ate Wednesday (16.4.14) / (18.4.14)

Breakfast
Porridge again- sorry, but I do love my porridge. This time I'm having the chocolate variety and I've added a few strawberries. I drank a glass of water before I had my breakfast and with my breakfast I had another glass of water.

Morning Snack
As it was nearly Easter on the day I took the photographs for this weeks What I Ate Wednesday, I had a hot cross bun. I don't normally like hot cross buns as I don't like raisins. But M&S have brought hot cross buns with chocolate chips in instead of raisins and it also contains toffee and fudge.

Lunch
I wasn't really that hungry at lunchtime, so I just had something light. I had some watercress salad with cheddar cheese, cucumber and ham.

Afternoon Tea
We went out for afternoon tea and obviously I was going to have a a cup of tea and a scone with jam and clotted cream. You may have seen this on Sunday's post. I never know whether to put the jam or the cream on first and I seem to change it every time.

Dinner
I forgot to take pictures of my dinner on Wednesday, but Friday we went out for dinner. I had a fish pie which came with kale and red cabbage. It was an absolute massive portion but I still managed to eat it all.

Dessert
For my dessert I had a warm chocolate brownie which was covered in melted chocolate and came with vanilla ice cream. Delicious!!

That's everything. This weeks What I Ate Wednesday had meals from two days and consisted of a lot of treats but I thought it would be more interesting as I ate out.

Beauty Tuesday: More Revlon Lip Butters and Another Revlon Matte Balm

If you read yesterdays Makeup Monday post then you would have seen that I purchased a couple more of the Revlon Lip Butters to add to my collection. I also brought one of the Revlon Matte Balms and  I loved it so much, I went back into town yesterday and I purchased another one. I also brought more Revlon Lip Butters as I'm trying to collect them all.

The Revlon Matte Balm that I brought was Elusive and its a really pretty natural dark pink. I will be doing a full review on the Revlon Matte Balm's soon.

I brought 5 more Revlon Lip Butters and the ones that I brought were Sweet Tart which is a lovely bright, light barbie pink.

Also I brought Tutti Frutti which I can't wait to wear in the summer as its a really gorgeous orange.

I picked up Macaroon which I think I will be wearing a lot of in the Autumn as its a sort of brown, red, purple with a gold shimmer.

Another one I picked up was Berry Smoothie which is very similar to Macaroon but also very different as its darker and more purple- red. It is another colour beautiful for Autumn and it has this almost red shimmer running through.

The last one that I picked up was Juicy Papaya which is another orange, but it is more of a coral-nude and again I can't wait to wear in the Summer.

Thanks for reading.

Makeup Monday: Mini Makeup Haul

The other day I did a little bit of shopping and obviously I was going to buy makeup. Boots were doing 3 for 2 mix and match across all the makeup so I took advantage of that, however everything I brought from Boots was from Revlon. I also did a little bit of shopping in TK Maxx. Here's what I brought...

I brought 2 more Revlon Lip Butters as I'm trying to collect all of them. I brought 2 everyday natural colours and they were Cotton Candy and Peach Parfait.

Cotton Candy is just a really light pink that I will probably wear everyday as its very natural looking and just gives a sheer wash of pink on the lips.

Peach Parfait is a orange sort of nude which has a gold shimmer and gold glitter running through, its stunning and looks amazing on the lips.

I also brought one of the Revlon Matte Balms as I haven't yet tried them and I really want to. The one that I chose was Unapologetic, its a really bright pink coral that its perfect for the Summer.

I also brought a new mascara not from Boots but from TK Maxx. It's a Maybelline one which I haven't seen in Boots or Superdrug before. I think its called Cil à Cil  Volume Express, I don't know much about it but I brought it to try as I quite like Maybelline mascaras.

Also from TK Maxx I brought these clear plastic desk storage holders, which I'm going to use for makeup. I brought 2 to store my lipsticks in as I'm trying to collect clear plastic makeup storage for all my makeup as I think it looks really nice.

That's it, that's all the makeup I brought. Thanks for reading!

Surprise Sunday: Afternoon Tea Anyone?

Coming from a family of tea lovers, I never really liked tea all that much for along time. But recently I have been really getting into it and I'm even starting to crave the stuff, I swear it's some kind of drug. We went out for afternoon tea to this local Vineyard as it was my grandparents anniversary. And I had what the place called a 'Tadpole' which consists of tea with 1 scone with jam and clotted cream.

The tea didn't come in it's normal form, the tea bag, it came loose. I'd never really had loose tea before and I didn't even know that tea came loose. So there was no hope in me knowing what a tea strainer was, but thankfully I do know now. We had a little cup and saucer which we were to drink our tea from and the tea strainer was really cute, it was in a little tea pot shape. I've always thought tea tastes nicer in a cup than a mug, is that just me? And also, now I've tried loose tea, it tastes 10x better than tea from a bag. I know, I'm sounding old.

What I love about the place is that it is so quirky and nothing matches. Everyone has a different cup and saucer, everyone has a different plate and everyone even has a different chair. It has their personal touch that everyone will remember.

Of course I was going to have a scone, who wouldn't. I just had a plain scone but I could of had a cheese or a fruit scone. It came with jam and clotted cream which is an absoloute treat as I never normally have that. It was absoloutely to die for as the scones were homemade, and you could even see in the kitchen where they made them. The clotted cream and jam were also local produce from the area. It was proberly one of the best scones I have had for a long time and I'm craving one now as I'm typing this. Thanks for reading!

What I Ate Wednesday (14.4.14)

Breakfast
I just wanted something quick and easy for breakfast so I had porridge with a banana and as a treat I added golden syrup to sweeten it. Then as usual I had a cup of tea as I need the caffeine in the morning to keep me awake as I had lot of revision to get done today. Also I just had a glass of water as I've been suffering from a lot of headaches recently and it think it could be down to dehydration, so I'm now making sure I drink 8 glasses of water a day.

 Lunch
I decided to eat my lunch outside today as the weather was so nice and sunny. I had a cheese topped roll which I heated up so it was nice and warm and then inside I just had Primula original cheese spread. On the side I had some carrot sticks and cucumber with houmous and this bean and white cheese salad. I also had another glass of water.

Snack
For a snack I really fancied some fruit so I had some pineapple and grapes with a smoothie. The smoothie I had was the Innocent pomegranate, blueberries and acai one, and this one is one of my favourites. It also contains red and white grapes, bananas, orange, and lemon juice and 1 glass is 2 of your 5 a day. I also had a glass of water.

Dinner
I had Korma curry made with pork and served with rice. On the side I had peas and Mattar paneer which is basically peas in a tomato based sauce with farmer cheese and its absolutely delicious. I also had another glass of water.

Dessert/ Evening Snack
Not very exciting but a bit of a chocolate fix and as a treat I had a KitKat and 3 Jaffacakes both of which were delicious. Also I had another glass of water.

That's it!

Beauty Tuesday: Wet to Dry Hair Routine

My hair routine always changes depending on what products I use and how I'm currently styling my hair. I go through phases on how I style my hair and when I find one I like, I will constantly wear my hair like that, until I get bored and move onto the next hairstyle. Recently I've been wearing my hair down and I have either been just straightening my hair or curling it.

I wash my hair every other day or every couple of days, depending how oily my roots get. My hair type is mainly dry as I use a lot of heat on my hair and the ends of my hair are damaged. I've been using hair masks, deep conditioning treatments, oils and they are helping my hair's condition improve. The shampoo and conditioner I'm using at the moment are the Pantene Youth Protect 7, its not my shampoo and conditioner of choice but I only brought it to try as it was on offer. My favourite shampoo and conditioner is the Aussie Miracle Moist Shampoo and Conditioner but I haven't brought them for a while as I like to try new products.

After I've washed my hair I leave it to dry natural in a towel, until it's about 50% dry. Then I spray the Dove Nourishing Oil Spray into the ends of my hair. This stuff is amazing, it is one of my holy-grail beauty products and it's smells stunning. I have a review on this product if your interested in more information about it.

I then will brush my hair with my tangle-teezer as naturally my hair is wavy and textured and it can tangle easy and this brush is an absolute life saver. I rarely use any other brush on my hair now and I never use a normal hair brush on my hair when it's wet.

If it's the morning and I've washed my hair I will then blow dry my hair upside down and use my tangle teezer to constantly brush my hair as I try to get it as straight as possible. I make sure that I funnel the hairdryer down the hair shaft so that the cuticles remain closed which helps stop my hair from looking frizzy.  Before my hair is completely dry I use my Babyliss Big Hair to give my hair a more professional blow dried look and this adds more volume and shine to my hair.

However if it's the evening and I've washed my hair then I leave my hair to dry naturally over night. Then in the morning when I wake up I straighten my hair with my ghd hair straightners or I curl my hair and I use are the Remington Pearl wand. They are amazing, they heat up really quickly and it's so quick easy to curl my hair and I'm normal always happy with the result from them. When I curl my hair, I split my hair into 4 sections, I face the wand downwards and I wrap the hair around the wand and away from my face.

Always after I've used heat on my hair I finish by applyling a few drops of serum or an oil in the ends of my hair as like I already said my hair type is dry. Right now I'm using the Macadamia Oil, which I love. I tend to use about 1 pump and I just rub it between my hands and then distribute it through the ends of my hair to keep my hair looking silky and smooth.

And that's it, that's my full hair routine from wet to dry.
